My favourite place in Coventry is…The War Memorial Park

We’re a nation of explorers, and with so many hidden gems all around the UK we’re never short of great local places to discover including in Coventry.

And who better to share some of the best places to visit in the local area than Emma our Operations Manager.

Emma knows a thing or two about the best places to visit in Coventry, including her favourite spot: The War Memorial Park.

‘’I love visiting The Memorial Park because it’s where I used to go with my family when I was younger!”

Get to know The War Memorial Park

The park was opened in 1921 as a tribute to the 2,587 locals from Coventry who died between 1914 and 1918 fighting in the First World War.

With over 48 hectares of land, the park has beautiful grounds, a kids’ play area, mini water park, and a number of recreational activities available including a bowling green, skate park, tennis courts and a café.

Three reasons Emma loves visiting The War Memorial Park

With so much to see and experience here, it’s no wonder Emma is a big fan! She shares three reasons why it’s her favourite place to visit in Coventry.

There’s so much to do for everyone, not just the kids!

“It’s a wonderful place with so much to do and see for all age groups.”

There are the beautiful memorial grounds coupled with the kids’ play area, mini water park and nature trails, plus lots of sports activities…you can easily forget the time!

Lots of fun events take place at the park

“The memorial park supports a number of live events!”

Throughout the year the park supports local charities and holds live events and concerts. They’re definitely not to be missed.

It’s in a great location

“It’s so easy to get to, making it a great spot to explore even if you only have a couple of hours to spare.”

And to top it all off there is a direct bus link from Holiday Inn Coventry to the park, so you don’t even have to worry about parking!
